- Rise heavily implies the presence of three books means the 2013 entry is a Stealth Sequel and Burn follows up on that by bringing back Jessica from the opening and ending of the prior installment.
  - The return of Ellie Bixler likewise indicates the films are following an actual arc.
- reading the incantation “Kunda, Astratta, Montossé, Canda” from the Book will awaken the Evil.
  - In a twist, it’s used twice: Jessica invokes the incantation with Will, evidently revealing it gives the Deadites some power when they use it, but seemingly also allows them to abandon one host for another.
