Game Setup

Last time on Traitor Amongst Us: The party enters Trinisius’ fourth district and it is as seedy as its reputation suggests. As they enter the Weeping Willow Park, the twilight fog is lying like a blanket over it all. They were told by their handler, Brent Gad, that they should look for someone with a red chrysanthemum pinned on their lapel and deliver a password. They used various methods to discover him, and found him at the central pond of the park. He is an elderly man who is clearly scared. He mentions that an associate of his named Dr. Elara Thorne has been missing for four days. He offers 50 gold if they can locate her. He is fearing the worst. They learn that she is a middle aged human of fair complexion with auburn hair, standing about 5 1/2 ‘ tall, wearing glasses. She worked in the Great Library of Diun in a division of the Jhion Order, but may not be a part of it. She was working on something ‘sensitive’ that had drawn the attention of the Triumvirate ‘Cleaners’, a secret police organization. This is clearly more dangerous than they initially expected, but accepted it nonetheless. They are given a key to her office, and leave to regroup at Arix’s apartment, but a young thief stole the key from them and delivered it to the night watchmen. The other watchmen, alerted to the exchange by an informant, moved to intercept the party under the pretense of ‘State Secrets’. They all evaded capture and even reclaimed the key. When they regrouped, they decided to use the sewers to get to Thorn’s residence. Once there they discovered correspondence from Admiral Holton Reeve asking for ‘more samples. The Gala was a week away and he desperately needed more.’ With no idea what they are referring to, they decide to investigate her office. They sneak in and find a lockbox, a button with an anchor, and some silt under a rug, in addition to an unfinished letter Thorne was writing, saying ‘there would be no more going…’ With the aforementioned ship-naming gala for the Briseadair-deighe (BREE-shuh-der JAY-uh) at Foster Gaer naval dock in a day, they know they need to hurry. But first, what ‘s in the box!?
